Why we built it
Most people learning AI engineering get stuck in “tutorial hell”: they finish courses and watch dozens of videos, yet freeze the moment an interviewer asks a follow-up. Video is passive — you nod along and forget. Live bootcamps work, but they cost tens of thousands to lakhs of rupees, run on fixed cohort schedules, and often aren't built for beginners.
Skillumen sits in the gap: the interview-prep mechanics of a cohort — but self-paced, transparent, and affordable.
How it works
- Active recall + spaced repetition. You retrieve answers instead of re-watching, an AI grades you in your own words, and reviews are scheduled so it actually sticks.
- Build it by hand. An in-browser coding environment with real labs — up to a five-part RAG capstone (retrieval → agents with LangGraph/MCP → evals → deploy with FastAPI).
- Rehearse out loud. AI voice mock interviews put you on the spot and score your answers, so the real room feels familiar.
- A per-topic AI tutor. Stuck on a card? Ask, and get unstuck on the spot.
The curriculum spans LLM fundamentals, RAG, agents, fine-tuning, evaluation, LLMOps, and system design — the topics interviews actually test — across three tiers: Foundations, Applied, and Advanced.
